How could anyone pass up this book for it's content and it's great full page color photos and the price?! The book published in 1977 is a gem. The book begins with the telling of his birthplace and his decision to move either to Paris or Berlin, he chooses Berlin, which for him .... was a good fit. The book continues with his development and his further travels to Russia, his homeland. He developed a very close relationship with Kandinsky and the two of them were involved with the famous school of Bauhaus, which broke up with the advent of Hitler. Hitler then put Klee's work in his Degenerate traveling show , which, in fact boosted the visibility and the popularity of this artist. Klee had a fantastic career and is today one of the most important artists of the twentieth century. This artist highly recommends this book. Great for the price.
